The EggLink Gateway device is now running in production. It sits between the grading machine and the printers and scanners on the line, and orchestrates pack printing, pack scanning and case printing together with the EggLink system.
How it works
- Pack printing. The gateway receives each pack’s data from the grading machine and processes it together with EggLink, creating a unique ID for every supply, order and lane combination. It then sends the right preset print command to the pack printer, using custom layouts and the data you choose to print.
- Pack scanning and case printing. At the case station, the gateway takes the pack codes from the scanner and, with EggLink, sends the right case label to the case printer.
- No wrong codes. If a pack’s data can’t be verified, the print is held back instead of printing something wrong.
Traceability from supply to dispatch
Every pack code is linked to its production order and the egg supply it came from, and every case to the packs and batches inside it, all recorded in EggLink as they happen.
One dashboard for the line
- Per-device commands. Set each device’s own commands in command recipes, and the gateway works with any printer or scanner.
- Print profiles. Set the print layout and settings per product, per buyer, or per product-and-buyer combination. EggLink applies the matching one automatically.
- Device actions. Control the printers and scanners attached to your gateways from the same dashboard.
- Gateway management. See whether each gateway is online, change its settings and restart it remotely.
